Winter Series - Radio Controlled Sailing Results
Published 22:21 on 27 Jan 2024
On a cold but sunny afternoon we welcomed four new boats for the 5th race in our winter series.
A northerly F2/3 gave us perfect conditions and the chance to set a long line which we could all see down. With 10 competitors there was a lot of jostling for position at the starts, even a few collisions between those who should know better!
The course was long beat to windward with the mark left to port, a reach to the Yellow buoy, a run before another reach and finally after rounding the white & black post a beat back to the line.
The challenge of controlling your boat, deciding on tacking angles, port & starboard incidents and judging the distance to the buoys let alone keeping track of your own boat made for a fun afternoon with a lot of friendly banter.
7 heats were sailed with Alex winning the day followed by Rob and then Robin in 3rd. The next race is Monday 29 at 11.30. Please come and watch and afterwards try one yourself.
