BHYC Cadet Kayak and SUP night
The Cadets enjoyed a lovely evening on the water on Friday for the Kayak, SUP and Food Night. They all did extremely well with the windy and tidal conditions and managed to paddle round most of the harbour before needing a helping tow back to the club before the tide dropped. BHYC Members Racing Sonars
Four members from BHYC sailed in a gentle breeze in the Thursday night Sonar Series in Cowes organised by the Island Sailing Club. The team had a fantastic evening on the water and they will be back next week as Sonar racing happens every Thursday night this summer and is open to all BHYC members, especially cadets as part of a reciprocal arrangement between BHYC and ISC. Social Sailing
Social Sailing on Sunday was very pleasant and relaxing. The conditions were ideal, with a gentle breeze and blue skies in abundance. Spring Series Race 3 & 4
" With the first two races of the Spring series having been cancelled due to strong winds, there was a danger of losing races three and four to lack of wind! Peacocks tail (Padina pavonica)
From April to September at Colonels hard rock pools and along to the lifeboat station is a great place to see this attractive seaweed. This seaweed is more common in warmer waters such as the mediterranean and in the uk is on its Northern limits, and Bembridge being one of the best places to see it. Craft Fair in Aid of Ukraine
It's great to be able to report that the fundraising Craft Fair hosted by the Club last Saturday raised £1000 for The British Red Cross/DEC Humanitarian Appeal for Ukraine. Thank you to all the helpers and to the generous donation from a Club Member which allowed us to hit the magic four figures.

European champion BHYC Youth Sailor Arthur Farley
ILCA 7 Final Results 2022 EurILCA U21 Europeans MASSIVE congratulations to Arthur for winning the Under 19 in the European championship 2022. He was also was first GBR sailor and first U21 and came 7th overall Arthur will be coaching the ILCA 4s this weekend and it will be great to see him back at the Club. IW Youth and Junior Championship 2022
Four regattas will take place from May to November 2022 across the Island hosted by Royal Victoria Yacht Club, Brading Haven Yacht Club, Gurnard Sailing Club,Yarmouth Sailing Club and Royal Solent Yacht Club under the IW Youth and Junior Championship Series.
